Words in Motion started as a place to read and think about Arab and SWANA stories together. Over time, people have reached out to bring that into their own spaces.
Below are examples of past collaborations.
These are examples only, if you have other ideas in mind, please feel free to reach out!
-
I run reading and writing workshops and wider cultural events that bring together different disciplines and activities. Each one is designed as a journey through reading, reflection, writing, and, for some editions, creative arts.
I've held these in libraries, historic sites, museums, cultural centers, and community spaces, in Arabic, French, and English. If you're looking to bring something reflective and creative to your community, school, or gathering, we can build something together around a theme you care about.
-
I design literary & cultural events ( conferences, evenings of poetry, festival programming etc). From concept to run-of-show, I build experiences around a theme, a place, or a set of voices that deserve the room.
If you're imagining an event but not sure yet what shape it should take, we can work together on bringing your vision to life.
-
I write essays, articles, and reflections that move between Arabic, French, and English on literature, language, culture and beyond.
If your publication, platform, or project needs a voice that can hold that kind of nuance, I'd love to contribute a piece, a series, or an ongoing column.
-
I take on creative direction for editorial and cultural projects, shaping how a collection, publication, or creative strategy looks like. This can mean designing a book collection from concept to visual identity, editing and sequencing content, or guiding a project's tone and aesthetic across every touchpoint.
For example, I helped create and design a book collection for a museum in Morocco on Amazigh oral heritage.
-
I take part in panels, interviews, and in-conversation formats on Arab and SWANA literature, language, and culture.
